Starting on Monday, April 29th the annual spring burning restrictions will begin. At that time, the only burning permits that will be issued will be variance permits. Regular burning permits will not be issued. This restriction will stay on until adequate green occurs across our coverage area. Normally restrictions are taken off towards the end of May.

Spring burning restrictions have greatly reduced the number of wildfires that occur across the state.

Counties involved: Beltrami County (north half), Pennington County, Roseau County, Marshall County, Kittson County

Just for a reminder:

  • Variance Permits: Agricultural related burning, Live training burns for FD’s, large construction related burn, and approved prescribed burns
  • Regular Permits: Nonagricultural related burns, yards piles, small fields less than 1 acre.
